Pommard Clos de la plâtière 2006 1er cru Prince Florent de Merode Belonging to the same family since the end of the 17th century, the Domaine Prince Florent de Mérode extends to the appellations of Aloxe-Corton, Corton, Corton-Renardes, Ladoix-Serrigny, Ladoix and Pommard. Its bouquet of undergrowth and red fruits expresses all the nobility of Pinot Noir. Fleshy and of a pleasant roundness, the palate has mastic and bottom. September 8, 2020 - First of 20 half bottles... Not decanted, but I believe it would have warranted an hour or so even in this format. Modest, very Pinot like hue showing little aging. Clearly a high acidity vintage.With a little luck, this wine will age like a 96 Pommard. Fairly primary fruit still with cherries, brambly aromas, spices; all fairly tightly wound in acidity. The balance is excellent and I'm confident this wine will improve for another decade. I have found that the wines from this producer take time, which is quite ok..
