Overview A vintage Seiko 5 DX from the Suwa factory, with a silver sunburst dial, applied faceted baton indices, faceted baton hands and a bevelled day/date window at 3 o'clock. The dial is signed SEIKO / 5 (shield) / DX / 27 JEWELS with the Suwa mark. Stainless steel cushion-shaped case with a fluted coin-edge bezel, crown at 3 o'clock and a solid screw-down caseback marked WATER PROOF. Fitted with a Seiko stainless steel H-link bracelet with a SEIKO / 5 SPORTS signed fold-over clasp. Bezel: dark tarnish and dirt in the flutes, most noticeable around 8–10 o'clock and 4–6 o'clock, brownish residue where the bezel meets the crystal in the lower quadrants, and a few small dark spots on the bezel top around 12–1 o'clock. Case: light surface scratches on the lug tops and case sides and a small dark mark on the upper-left lug; no dents. Crystal: no clearly visible scratches or chips in the photos. Dial: clean overall with a few very fine specks; printing crisp, no staining or fading. Hands clean. Caseback: light circular scratches and dirt in the notches, engravings crisp. Bracelet: scratches and light wear on the brushed links, dark dirt and tarnish trapped between the links and around the pins, brownish deposit inside the links near the clasp. Clasp cover: multiple fine and a few longer scratches, engravings still clear. No red rust observed. A thorough cleaning is recommended. Please refer to the photos for the exact condition. Timekeeping accuracy has not been measured with professional equipment, and the original water resistance should not be relied upon on a watch of this age.
