This is the Riserva expression of Lisini Brunello. It is produced from a strict selection of the finest grapes of the estate and only in vintages considered suitable for the Riserva designation. The estate itself describes its Brunello Riserva as a limited-production wine produced only in the best vintages, based on rigorous grape selection and traditional vinification. The 2011 Riserva received strong international critical recognition: 94+ points Robert Parker Wine Advocate 93 points Wine Spectator 91 points Wine Enthusiast Wine Spectator also reported production of only 300 cases, underlining the limited availability of the Riserva. The noble Lisini-Clementi family has roots in the territory extending back to the middle of the sixteenth century, documented in the family archives. The estate lies in the southern part of Montalcino near Sant’Angelo in Colle. Its approximately 150 hectares include around 27 hectares of vineyards, situated at elevations of approximately 350 to 500 metres above sea level. The vineyards benefit from favourable exposure and from sea breezes arriving from the Maremma coast, creating a comparatively dry, well-ventilated microclimate with little fog. Lisini cultivates Sangiovese as the sole grape variety in its vineyards. A FAMILY CONNECTED TO THE HISTORY OF BRUNELLO Lisini is not simply an established Brunello producer. The family also played a meaningful role in the institutional history of the denomination. Elina Lisini became administrator of the estate in 1962 and remained at its head until 2009. In 1967 she was among the 25 founders of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino and later served as its president. That connection gives Lisini a place not only in the production of Brunello but in the development and protection of the appellation itself. SANT’ANGELO IN COLLE – SOUTHERN MONTALCINO The Lisini estate is situated close to Sant’Angelo in Colle in the southern sector of Montalcino. This part of the denomination is generally warmer than the higher northern zones, but elevation and exposure can preserve freshness. The Lisini vineyards benefit from altitudes reaching approximately 500 metres and cooling maritime influences from the direction of the Maremma. These conditions help create the combination that serious Brunello requires: Ripe Sangiovese fruit Acidity Tannin Aromatic complexity Long-term ageing capacity Lisini’s style remains firmly rooted in traditional Montalcino winemaking rather than excessive extraction or strongly marked new oak. BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RISERVA Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy’s most important appellations and is produced exclusively from Sangiovese. Riserva represents an additional level of selection and ageing. At Lisini, the distinction is particularly meaningful. The Riserva comes from a selection of the estate’s finest grapes. It is made in limited quantities. It is produced only in appropriate vintages. And it receives extended maturation in traditional large oak casks. This makes Lisini Riserva fundamentally different from a simple extended-ageing commercial bottling. The quality begins in the vineyard through selection. 100 PERCENT SANGIOVESE The wine is made entirely from Sangiovese. Few Italian varieties communicate origin as clearly as great Sangiovese. Its characteristics can include: Red cherry Wild cherry Black cherry Dried strawberry Violet Dried flowers Tobacco Leather Herbs Earth Tea Licorice Balsamic notes With age, the fruit becomes less primary and increasingly integrated with earthy, savoury and tertiary complexity. Sangiovese also possesses naturally elevated acidity and substantial tannin, two qualities that support the long evolution of Brunello. TRADITIONAL VINIFICATION The 2011 Lisini Brunello di Montalcino Riserva was produced from the estate’s selected Sangiovese fruit. Contemporary technical information records traditional vinification in glass-lined cement tanks with approximately 20 to 26 days of skin contact. The wine was then transferred to large 20 to 52 hectolitre casks for approximately 48 months, followed by additional bottle refinement before release. This is a traditional maturation philosophy. Large casks allow oxygen exchange and gradual development without imposing excessive oak flavour. The intention is to preserve Sangiovese and Montalcino rather than to make the wine taste primarily of wood. THE 2011 MONTALCINO VINTAGE 2011 was a warm vintage in Montalcino. The season was characterised by accelerated development and significant heat, particularly later in summer. The vintage therefore demanded careful vineyard management and selection. Antonio Galloni described 2011 as variable across Montalcino, with the best wines showing seductive, open and generous personalities. For Lisini Riserva, the result was particularly successful. Wine Advocate specifically noted that despite the warmth of the year, the wine retained unusually youthful fruit and impressive balance. That is significant for a Riserva from a warm vintage. The wine achieved ripeness without losing the structural qualities needed for long ageing. INTERNATIONAL CRITICAL ACCLAIM The exact 2011 Lisini Brunello di Montalcino Riserva received strong critical recognition. 94+ POINTS ROBERT PARKER WINE ADVOCATE Monica Larner praised the wine’s youthful character despite the warm vintage, highlighting dark cherry, dried blackberry, spice, sweet tobacco and a layered yet velvety texture. Berry Bros. & Rudd lists the wine as 94+ and gives a maturity window extending to approximately 2044. 93 POINTS WINE SPECTATOR Wine Spectator described a rich and concentrated style with plum, black cherry, leather, mineral and spice, supported by dense tannins and substantial fruit. Its original suggested drinking window extended through approximately 2033. Wine Spectator also reported production of only 300 cases. 91 POINTS WINE ENTHUSIAST Wine Enthusiast highlighted truffle, saddle leather, game, crushed strawberry, grilled herbs, dried cherry and tobacco, supported by tightly knit tannins. The review specifically recommended waiting until after 2021, placing the wine firmly in its mature drinking period today. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CRITICAL CONSENSUS The three reviews approach the wine from different perspectives. Wine Advocate emphasised richness combined with surprising youth. Wine Spectator emphasised concentration and structure. Wine Enthusiast emphasised mature savoury complexity. Together they describe exactly what makes this wine interesting today. Fruit. Structure. Tertiary evolution. And the ability to continue developing. ONLY 300 CASES REPORTED Wine Spectator reported total production of approximately 300 cases. For a serious Brunello Riserva distributed internationally, this is a comparatively small quantity. More than a decade after release, the number of bottles remaining in professional cellar conditions and still paired with original estate wooden packaging is naturally smaller. That scarcity is particularly relevant for collectors who value complete presentation and traceable provenance. TASTING CHARACTER TODAY At more than a decade from harvest, the 2011 Lisini Riserva is entering a particularly attractive phase. The fruit can still show: Dark cherry Black cherry Dried blackberry Crushed strawberry Plum These primary and secondary elements are increasingly joined by: Sweet tobacco Leather Truffle Dried herbs Earth Spice Licorice Tea Game Balsamic notes The palate should remain full and layered but increasingly integrated. The original tannic structure has had years to soften. The warmth of the vintage supplies generosity. Traditional large-cask maturation preserves the identity of Sangiovese. DRINK NOW OR CONTINUE CELLARING The wine is firmly within its mature drinking period. It can be opened today with appropriate aeration and should provide a compelling mature Brunello experience. At the same time, professionally stored bottles retain further ageing potential. Wine Advocate-related merchant guidance extends the maturity horizon toward approximately 2044. With two bottles, this lot provides the ideal structure for a collector. Open one now. Allow the second to continue developing. That ability to follow the evolution of the same Riserva over time is one of the principal advantages of a two-bottle collector lot. THE ORIGINAL LISINI WOODEN CASE A major feature of this lot is the original branded Lisini wooden case shown in the photographs. The case carries the historic Lisini family crest and the Lisini name prominently on the front. The side identifies: Azienda Agraria Lisini S. Angelo in Colle Montalcino – Siena The wooden case retains its original internal dividers and represents genuine estate packaging rather than a generic replacement box. The case is larger than the two bottles included in this lot and is presented exactly as shown in the photographs. Its value lies in its authenticity, estate identity and connection with the provenance of the wines. For mature Brunello, original winery packaging provides an additional layer of collector appeal. THE LISINI CREST The historic Lisini coat of arms is prominently reproduced on the wooden case. This is particularly attractive in combination with the black and gold bottle design. The crest, winery name and Sant’Angelo in Colle identification connect the presentation directly to the estate. The result is visually understated and traditional. Exactly appropriate for a historic Montalcino producer. THE HISTORIC OHMS CELLAR LABELS The rear photographs provide an additional piece of visible provenance. Both bottles carry original OHMS Champagne, Wine & Luxury Goods cellar labels. These labels date from an earlier phase of the OHMS presentation identity and have remained on the bottles throughout their professional storage history. COMBINED SHIPPING Combined shipping is available for compatible OHMS lots purchased in the same auction. Where destination, total parcel weight, bottle format and platform shipping conditions permit, several lots can be consolidated into one professionally prepared shipment. Wooden cases, large-format bottles, unusually heavy lots or destinations subject to carrier restrictions may require separate parcels. OHMS CONNOISSEURS CHOICE SINCE 1998 OHMS s.r.o. was established in 1998. The original Connoisseurs Choice philosophy was built around premium and luxury collecting. Fine wine subsequently became the principal specialist field. Since 2003, OHMS has developed particular expertise in mature German Riesling, prestigious Mosel estates, Super Tuscans, Brunello di Montalcino, Barolo, Barbaresco, vintage Champagne and collectible large-format bottles. Direct producer relationships and documented provenance remain central to this philosophy. Our approach is based upon: Provenance. Terroir. Authenticity. Professional storage. Transparent description. Careful packaging. Professional shipping. Respect for wines whose full character can only be revealed through time. OHMS has developed a substantial publicly visible selling history on Catawiki with thousands of successfully sold objects, hundreds of buyer reviews and positive feedback above 99 percent. For collectors purchasing mature fine wine online, this transparent professional history provides an additional level of confidence. FROM BRUNELLO TO HIGH-ALTITUDE GEISHA COFFEE The OHMS philosophy of provenance and terroir today extends beyond fine wine. OHMS is also connected with Finca Dindoš, our own high-altitude specialty coffee farm in Alto Quiel, Boquete, Panama. Boquete is internationally recognised as one of the world’s great origins for specialty coffee, particularly the celebrated Geisha variety. Finca Dindoš lies in the mountain environment of Alto Quiel, where elevation, volcanic soils, mountain rainfall, cool nights and pronounced day-to-night temperature differences provide exceptional conditions for slow coffee-cherry maturation and aromatic development. At Finca Dindoš we cultivate high-altitude Geisha coffee using organic and environmentally sensitive farming practices with respect for the surrounding mountain ecosystem. The farm also produces cascara from carefully dried ripe coffee cherries. MONTALCINO AND ALTO QUIEL – TERROIR ACROSS CONTINENTS For OHMS, the relationship between fine wine and specialty coffee is natural. Both begin with agriculture. Both depend upon place. The elevated vineyards and Mediterranean-influenced climate of Sant’Angelo in Colle. Devonian slate on the Mosel. Volcanic mountain soils in Alto Quiel. Climate. Altitude. Exposure. Plant genetics. Selective harvesting. Careful processing. Patience. Terroir. Different continents. Different products. The same philosophy. Know the origin. Respect the terroir. Preserve the product. Describe it transparently. Pack it carefully. Ship it professionally. WHY THIS 2011 LISINI BRUNELLO RISERVA LOT STANDS OUT Azienda Agraria Lisini. Historic Montalcino family estate. AZIENDA AGRARIA LISINI – DEEP ROOTS IN MONTALCINO

Lisini is one of the historic estates of Montalcino.

A FAMILY CONNECTED TO THE HISTORY OF BRUNELLO

Lisini is not simply an established Brunello producer.

SANT’ANGELO IN COLLE – SOUTHERN MONTALCINO

The Lisini estate is situated close to Sant’Angelo in Colle in the southern sector of Montalcino.

This part of the denomination is generally warmer than the higher northern zones, but elevation and exposure can preserve freshness.

The Lisini vineyards benefit from altitudes reaching approximately 500 metres and cooling maritime influences from the direction of the Maremma.

These conditions help create the combination that serious Brunello requires:

Ripe Sangiovese fruit

Acidity

Tannin

Aromatic complexity

Long-term ageing capacity

Lisini’s style remains firmly rooted in traditional Montalcino winemaking rather than excessive extraction or strongly marked new oak.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RISERVA

Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy’s most important appellations and is produced exclusively from Sangiovese.

100 PERCENT SANGIOVESE

The wine is made entirely from Sangiovese.

Few Italian varieties communicate origin as clearly as great Sangiovese.

Its characteristics can include:

Red cherry

Wild cherry

Black cherry

Dried strawberry

Violet

Dried flowers

Tobacco

Leather

Herbs

Earth

Tea

Licorice

Balsamic notes

With age, the fruit becomes less primary and increasingly integrated with earthy, savoury and tertiary complexity.

Sangiovese also possesses naturally elevated acidity and substantial tannin, two qualities that support the long evolution of Brunello.

TRADITIONAL VINIFICATION

The 2011 Lisini Brunello di Montalcino Riserva was produced from the estate’s selected Sangiovese fruit.

THE 2011 MONTALCINO VINTAGE

2011 was a warm vintage in Montalcino.

INTERNATIONAL CRITICAL ACCLAIM

The exact 2011 Lisini Brunello di Montalcino Riserva received strong critical recognition.

94+ POINTS

ROBERT PARKER WINE ADVOCATE

Monica Larner praised the wine’s youthful character despite the warm vintage, highlighting dark cherry, dried blackberry, spice, sweet tobacco and a layered yet velvety texture.

Berry Bros. & Rudd lists the wine as 94+ and gives a maturity window extending to approximately 2044.

93 POINTS

WINE SPECTATOR

Wine Spectator described a rich and concentrated style with plum, black cherry, leather, mineral and spice, supported by dense tannins and substantial fruit.

Its original suggested drinking window extended through approximately 2033.

Wine Spectator also reported production of only 300 cases.

91 POINTS

WINE ENTHUSIAST

Wine Enthusiast highlighted truffle, saddle leather, game, crushed strawberry, grilled herbs, dried cherry and tobacco, supported by tightly knit tannins.

The review specifically recommended waiting until after 2021, placing the wine firmly in its mature drinking period today.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CRITICAL CONSENSUS

The three reviews approach the wine from different perspectives.

Wine Advocate emphasised richness combined with surprising youth.

Wine Spectator emphasised concentration and structure.

Wine Enthusiast emphasised mature savoury complexity.

Together they describe exactly what makes this wine interesting today.

Fruit.

Structure.

Tertiary evolution.

And the ability to continue developing.

ONLY 300 CASES REPORTED

Wine Spectator reported total production of approximately 300 cases.

TASTING CHARACTER TODAY

At more than a decade from harvest, the 2011 Lisini Riserva is entering a particularly attractive phase.

The fruit can still show:

Dark cherry

Black cherry

Dried blackberry

Crushed strawberry

Plum

These primary and secondary elements are increasingly joined by:

Sweet tobacco

Leather

Truffle

Dried herbs

Earth

Spice

Licorice

Tea

Game

Balsamic notes

The palate should remain full and layered but increasingly integrated.

The original tannic structure has had years to soften.

The warmth of the vintage supplies generosity.

Traditional large-cask maturation preserves the identity of Sangiovese.

DRINK NOW OR CONTINUE CELLARING

The wine is firmly within its mature drinking period.

THE ORIGINAL LISINI WOODEN CASE

A major feature of this lot is the original branded Lisini wooden case shown in the photographs.

The case carries the historic Lisini family crest and the Lisini name prominently on the front.

The side identifies:

Azienda Agraria Lisini

S. Angelo in Colle

Montalcino – Siena

The wooden case retains its original internal dividers and represents genuine estate packaging rather than a generic replacement box.

The case is larger than the two bottles included in this lot and is presented exactly as shown in the photographs.

Its value lies in its authenticity, estate identity and connection with the provenance of the wines.

For mature Brunello, original winery packaging provides an additional layer of collector appeal.

THE LISINI CREST

The historic Lisini coat of arms is prominently reproduced on the wooden case.

This is particularly attractive in combination with the black and gold bottle design.

The crest, winery name and Sant’Angelo in Colle identification connect the presentation directly to the estate.

The result is visually understated and traditional.

Exactly appropriate for a historic Montalcino producer.

FROM BRUNELLO TO HIGH-ALTITUDE GEISHA COFFEE

The OHMS philosophy of provenance and terroir today extends beyond fine wine.

MONTALCINO AND ALTO QUIEL – TERROIR ACROSS CONTINENTS

Both begin with agriculture.

Both depend upon place.
