Large and richly coloured specimen of Kammererite, the traditional collector name for chromium-bearing Clinochlore, from the Kop Dağ area of Turkey. Much of the exposed surface is covered by numerous small platy crystals displaying intense violet-purple, magenta and deep burgundy colours. The crystals show a pearly to vitreous lustre and produce an attractive sparkle under direct light. The dark matrix provides a strong contrast with the purple mineralisation. The specimen comes with an old typewritten collection label reading: “KAMMERIT.
