Medieval Bronze Ring with Foliate (Branch) Bezel Circa 11th–13th century AD A cast bronze finger ring with a projecting oval bezel engraved with a symmetrical foliate design of leafy branches (a laurel- or sprig-like motif spreading to either side). The band swells gently at the shoulders as it meets the raised bezel. The bronze carries a natural green-and-brown patina developed over long burial, against which the engraved branch motif reads clearly under raking light. The workmanship is consistent with traditional medieval and early modern bronze ring production. Rings of this kind, with a decorated projecting bezel, were widely worn as personal ornaments in the medieval and early modern periods. A genuine, wearable-scale piece, well suited to collection and display.
