The Canon FT QL (1966) is a solid all-mechanical 35mm SLR with TTL stop-down metering and Canon’s Quick Loading (QL) system, which makes film loading fast and reliable. It is offered here with the fast Canon FL 50mm f/1.4 standard lens, together with a metal lens hood and a filter. Important — please read carefully: Possible uneven exposure at 1/1000, traces of prism corrosion in the finder, and haze spots in the lens. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding. Measured: 1 s = 0.8 s, 1/60 = 1/55. 1/1000 is beyond the range of our tester and the curtains show a small travel difference, so uneven exposure across the frame is possible at 1/1000 — see Known Issues. The light seals have been replaced and the viewfinder cleaned internally. Measured Performance We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured: - 1 s — measured 1/0.8 s (approx. 0.3 stop slow) - 1/60 — measured 1/55 s (approx. 0.1 stop slow) - Curtain travel difference: -3ms Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself. Servicing This camera was serviced by us before listing: - Light seals (foam) replaced - Viewfinder cleaned internally Known Issues 1. At 1/1000 the shutter curtains run unevenly and one side of the frame may come out darker. The slower speeds are accurate. 2. Traces of prism corrosion remain visible in the viewfinder after cleaning. 3. Spots of haze inside the lens; expect slightly lower contrast against strong light.
