Dionysus Kaltgussporzellan Skulptur - 16 cm (Ohne mindestpreis)

Dionysus (Greek: Διόνυσος) is the god of wine in ancient Greek mythology and one of the twelve Olympian gods. Revered by both the ancient Greeks and the Thracians, he was the god of wine—possessing the power to intoxicate—and a deity of immense appeal who bestowed joy and benevolence upon humanity; he fostered civilization, established laws, and maintained world peace. Additionally, he was a patron of Greek agriculture and theatrical culture. According to Olympian legends, he was the son of Zeus and Semele (though some accounts name Persephone as his mother). Rituals honoring the god of wine were among the secret religious rites of ancient Greece, akin to the Eleusinian Mysteries dedicated to Demeter and Persephone. In Thracian ceremonies, he was depicted wearing a fox skin, a symbol said to represent rebirth. The Dionysian revelries—ecstatic rites dedicated specifically to him—were the most secretive of all such religious ceremonies. Dimensions: 7.5 x 10 x 16 cm (height: 16 cm); weight: 800 g Material: Cold-cast ceramic; surface finished with high-temperature mineral-based coloring.
