Vintage Chulucanas Terracotta Pitcher – Signed by Master Artisan Santodio Paz Juárez – Handcrafted Peruvian Pottery (Late 20th C.) An authentic handcrafted Peruvian terracotta pitcher made in Chulucanas (Piura region, Northern Peru) by renowned master ceramist Santodio Paz Juárez. This piece features a twisted handle, relief decorations depicting floral motifs, and a smooth burnished finish. Handcrafted using traditional pre-Inca Tallán and Vicús techniques: Positive-Negative Technique: Etched motifs are created using natural slip glazes and smoke-reduction firing using dried mango leaves to achieve the rich black tones. Stone-Burnished Surface: Polished with river stones prior to firing to give the unglazed clay its subtle natural sheen. Artist & Origin: Artisan: Santodio Paz Juárez (Fully signed on the base: "Santodio Paz, Peru / Hand Made in Chulucanas"). Origin: Chulucanas, Piura, Peru. Period: Late 20th Century / Contemporary Folk Art. Material: Terracotta / Black Smoked Earthenware Clay Dimensions: Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or restorations.
