Video of this specimen: https://streamable.com/3kr8f0 An unusual and highly aesthetic Fluorite with Calcite specimen from the Dachang Mine, China, displaying the distinctive geometric pattern often described by collectors as “QR Code” Fluorite. The specimen is covered with numerous intergrown fluorite crystals showing a delicate pale green body colour with contrasting purple-violet geometric zoning. The intricate purple patterns follow the crystal growth structure, creating an unusual maze-like or “QR code” appearance across many of the crystal faces. The fluorite crystals form a dense, three-dimensional cluster with attractive translucency and good lustre. Under stronger illumination, the pale green colour becomes more pronounced, while the violet zoning remains clearly visible and emphasizes the complex internal growth patterns. Small areas of white Calcite provide additional contrast and complete the mineral association. A particularly decorative specimen with an unusual combination of colour zoning, geometric crystal growth and strong overall composition — an excellent display piece for a fluorite or Chinese mineral collection.
