Antikes chinesisches Bernstein-Miniatur-Weingefäß, aus Bernstein geschnitzt. - Bernstein - China - Qing Dynastie (1644-1911)

Antique Chinese Carved Amber Miniature Wine Pot, Prunus/Plum Blossom Relief, Late Qing Dynasty — AS FOUND, Damage A Chinese carved amber miniature wine pot (also collected as a small teapot form), late Qing Dynasty, the compressed globular body worked in high relief with a dense, all-over design of prunus (plum blossom) flowers — a motif long favoured in Chinese decorative arts for its association with resilience and renewal, since the plum blooms while snow is still on the ground. A gently curved twig-form handle and a short spout complete the traditional wine-ewer silhouette, echoing the branch-and-blossom theme through into the vessel's structural elements. The lid is a separate carved section, also finished with a cluster of plum blossom carving, and sits loose rather than fitted. The material shows the warm honey-to-cognac tones and natural flow lines characteristic of carved amber, with darker inclusions and internal striations visible throughout — the kind of organic variation collectors of Chinese amber carving look for as a mark of the natural material, rather than a later composite or resin substitute. Condition — This piece has notable damage and is sold entirely as seen in the photographs. There are visible cracks and fissures running through the body, chipping and loss to some of the carved petal edges, and the lid/finial section is detached and sits separately rather than fitting as a conforming cover. This is an as-found piece for a collector who wants the carving and the material itself, rather than a piece for pristine display — please review all photos carefully, as they form part of the description. A characterful survivor of Chinese decorative amber carving, well suited to someone building a collection of Chinese scholar's or table objects who is comfortable with honest, visible age and damage. Dimensions: 10.5cm length x 5cm width/height Material: Carved amber Condition: Damage as shown — cracks, chips, detached lid section
