A pair of Bronze Age arrowheads featuring contrasting shapes but both with a prominent mid-rib and a cylindrical stem leading to a narrow tang. One arrowhead has a triangular blade with possibly square shoulders and a shorter tang, whilst the other displays a deltoid blade with shape barbs. Patination and earthly encrustations to the surface. Chips to the edges of the blades and barbs. In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites, settled in the Western Asiatic area. Due to the nomadic nature of the tribes, none of the bronzes were of great size, since it was required for them to be light and portable. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Everyday objects are also found including pins and bracelets. Their artwork mainly comprises ornaments, vessels and weapons. Measurements: L 12.1cm x W 1.5cm; L 12cm x W 2.1cm Provenance: Ex. London Collection, formed between 1990 - present.
