A group of three Bronze age bronze arrowheads of contrasting shapes but all featuring a raised mid-rib and a narrow tang. One arrowhead displays a leaf-shaped blade with relatively subtle mid-rib which directly leads to the tang, whilst the other two have triangular blades and a more prominent mid-rib which leads to a short cylindrical stem before the tang. Patination and earthly encrustation to the surface. Chips to the edges of the blades. In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites, settled in the Western Asiatic area. Due to the nomadic nature of the tribes, none of the bronzes were of great size, since it was required for them to be light and portable. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Everyday objects are also found including pins and bracelets. Their artwork mainly comprises ornaments, vessels and weapons. Measurements: L 8.7-9.5cm x W 1.8-2.4cm Provenance: Ex. London Collection, formed between 1990 - present.
