INNA PUPINA — SPRING PARALLELS — 2020 Spring Parallels is a unique original painting by Latvian contemporary artist Inna Pupina. Across an expansive field of blue, luminous yellow and white flowers gather through the left and central areas of the composition. Slender dark stems rise and extend outward, carrying the blossoms through the pictorial space with a graceful sense of movement. Warm lemon-yellow and ochre tones contrast with pale blue, turquoise and slate. Broad, expressive brushstrokes shape the petals, while layered marks and scattered dark droplets introduce spontaneity, depth and atmosphere. The concentrated floral presence is balanced by a calmer, more open passage on the right. This deliberate asymmetry allows the bouquet to expand beyond its central cluster, creating an elegant visual rhythm between gathering and release. Fine linear stems connect the individual flowers, while their curved movement contrasts with the rounded forms of the blossoms. Pupina combines recognisable botanical elements with an expressive treatment of colour, gesture and surface. The result is a bright and uplifting composition evoking the freshness of spring, renewal and the return of light. Entirely created by hand, this is a unique original artwork, not a print.
