Servierlöffel - Metall

An attractive collection of vintage decorative tableware and historical souvenirs, combining an elegant serving set in a fitted presentation case with five commemorative spoons from the 1958 Brussels World's Fair (Expo 58). Part I – Decorative Serving Set Presented in a green crocodile-patterned case with a decorative metal clasp and cream-coloured satin-style lining. The set includes: One decorative metal serving bowl with embossed floral and rose motifs. One removable transparent glass bowl insert. Six matching ornate teaspoons with scrolling floral decoration. One pierced serving spoon with decorative floral perforations. One pair of decorated sugar tongs. One fitted presentation case. The serving bowl has a warm golden-toned interior and an attractive raised floral border. The combination of decorative metalwork, glass and fitted presentation case gives the ensemble considerable vintage charm. Part II – Five Original Expo 58 Brussels Souvenir Spoons Five commemorative teaspoons associated with the Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Bruxelles, held in Belgium in 1958. Each spoon features a different architectural or commemorative design representing an exhibition pavilion or participant. Identifiable designs include Great Britain, Civitas Dei and Thailand. The reverse sides bear Expo-related inscriptions and small marks. These spoons represent an interesting piece of European post-war exhibition history and the optimism surrounding international cooperation, architecture and technological progress during the late 1950s. Comparable Expo 58 souvenir spoons are preserved in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History collection. Condition Vintage condition consistent with age and previous use. The serving case shows visible edge wear and surface marks. The satin-style lining shows age-related discolouration and creasing. The metal utensils show varying degrees of tarnishing, scratches and surface wear. The Expo spoons display noticeable patina and darkening. No silver purity or precious-metal content is guaranteed. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description. An appealing combined collection for enthusiasts of vintage tableware, decorative objects and international exhibition memorabilia.
