An eclectic worldwide stamp collection combining colourful thematic issues, older definitives, blocks, pairs and miniature sheets, presented on black stock pages and in glassine envelopes. The selection spans Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas, with material from the United States, United Nations, Norway, Spain, Indonesia, Rwanda, Congo, Paraguay, Bhutan, Fujeira and other countries and territories. Highlights include: • Bhutan’s 1996 Penny Black tribute, inscribed “22 Karat Gold Stamp”, presented in a red holder. This is a philatelic commemorative item, not an original British Penny Black. • A United States se-tenant block of eight 18c stamps illustrating space exploration, including the Moon, planetary probes, the Space Shuttle and satellites. • A Fujeira miniature sheet commemorating the January 1966 Cairo Stamp Centenary Exhibition, featuring the Sphinx and pyramids. • A selection of United Nations issues in dollar, Swiss franc and Austrian schilling denominations, including themes of international cooperation and disability awareness. • Indonesian Sukarno portrait issues, including CONEFO inscriptions, surcharges and a range of denominations. • Norwegian royal portraits and commemoratives featuring Nordkapp, polar exploration, flowers and scientific subjects. • Thematic stamps from Rwanda, Paraguay, Bhutan, Yemen and other territories depicting Olympic sports, football, space exploration, birds, flowers and paintings. • A Spanish Carlos V commemorative miniature sheet with an elaborate historical map background. • Repeated violet Ottoman-design stamps, including singles and blocks, as illustrated. The lot also contains non-postal collecting material, including a National Wildlife Federation “Christmas Stamps – Wildlife 1972” sheet and assorted charity and exhibition labels. These are included as collectibles and are not described as postage stamps. An engaging collection for worldwide and thematic collectors, offering a broad mixture of designs, formats and subjects. Duplicates are present. Condition: Mixed mint and used material, including mint never hinged (MNH) stamps. MNH status applies only to the relevant items, not to the entire collection. Other stamps may be hinged, without gum, precancelled or cancelled. Condition varies, with some age-related toning and occasional imperfections. No claim is made that individual sets are complete. Please examine all photographs carefully for the exact contents, perforations, cancellations and condition. The photographs form an integral part of the description.
