Historical Significance
Founded in 1856, Eterna played an important role in the development of Swiss automatic watchmaking. The company became particularly famous for introducing its innovative ball-bearing-mounted automatic rotor in 1948, an achievement reflected in the brand's iconic five-dot logo.
The KonTiki collection was introduced in 1958, inspired by the extraordinary 1947 expedition led by Thor Heyerdahl.
This chronograph represents an appealing chapter in the collection's development, combining the adventurous KonTiki identity with one of the most respected Swiss automatic chronograph movements ever produced.
Collector Appeal
The reference 1503.41 is an interesting alternative to more mainstream Swiss chronographs from TAG Heuer, Breitling and Omega.
Its principal attractions are the historical Eterna name, the robust Valjoux 7750 movement, the distinctive black dial and the engraved KonTiki caseback.
Examples of this reference are less frequently encountered than many contemporary Swiss chronographs, particularly in attractive cosmetic condition.
An excellent opportunity for collectors seeking an authentic Swiss mechanical chronograph with genuine heritage, distinctive styling and long-term collecting interest.
