Gras Blume Stein poliert - Höhe: 13 cm - Breite: 17 cm- 1300 g - (1)

Some stones are found. Some stones are recognized — because you feel you have seen them before, in a museum, in a scroll, in a dream. This is one of those stones. It is a grass-flower stone from southern China — the stone that Chinese collectors call ,the "national painting stone", because its natural patterns look like paintings done in the traditional ink-and-wash style. And this piece, F41, looks like it was painted at sunset. Look at it: A ground of warm amber and ochre, glowing like late-afternoon light. Dark, deep-black lines rising through it — peaks, ridges, fissures, like mountains painted with a single confident stroke. Between them, subtle orange passages, like the last light catching a hillside. The whole surface, polished smooth and cool, standing upright on its dark wooden base. The composition is all in the placement: light behind, dark in front, a sense of depth that a photograph would flatten but your eye will not. It is the kind of stone people circle, tilt, and photograph from three angles before they say anything. These patterns were not made by any hand. They were laid down hundreds of millions of years ago, when mineral-rich water moved through the rock and left its pigments behind, stroke by stroke, until the stone happened to look like art. Geology's slowest painter, and this is one of its better works. At 17 cm tall and 1.3 kg, F41 is a compact, elegant standing piece — at home on a desk, a bookshelf, a hallway cabinet, or a study table. Whether you collect picture stones, appreciate Chinese aesthetics, or simply want a quiet object that changes with the light — this is a small, unique piece of geological art, and there will never be another exactly like it. Specifications: Type: Natural grass-flower / guohua (picture) stone Model: F41 Dimensions: 13 × 2.5 × 17 cm (L × W × H) Weight: 1.3 kg Colour: Amber, ochre and black in a natural sunset-like composition Base: Dark wooden display base included Origin: Natural stone from southern China, 100% natural pattern Condition: Excellent, polished, ready to display It is a sunset painted by geology, standing on your shelf. You get to watch it change with the light.
