Vintage GINGE Cast Iron Bread Slicer – Danish Kitchen Heritage – 1930s–1950s

A charming and authentic vintage bread slicer by GINGE, a historic Danish manufacturer known for its quality craftsmanship and durable household equipment.

Dating approximately from the 1930s–1950s, this beautiful piece represents a wonderful example of traditional Danish kitchen equipment from the first half of the 20th century.

GINGE was a well-known Danish manufacturer with roots dating back to 1917. The company became recognised for producing reliable household tools and equipment, combining practical functionality with robust construction.

This particular bread slicer features a sturdy cream-white cast-iron frame, a distinctive curved cutting mechanism with the GINGE name embossed on the metal, and beautiful contrasting blue wooden elements.

The original hand-operated mechanism reflects the simplicity and ingenuity of traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship.

The combination of cream-white metal and deep blue wood gives this piece a particularly charming vintage appearance.

Beyond its practical purpose, it is also a wonderful decorative object, perfectly suited to a country kitchen, farmhouse interior, vintage-inspired café or a collection of antique kitchen utensils.

Condition & Functionality

The bread slicer is in working condition. The manual mechanism operates smoothly, and the cutting arm moves freely up and down.

It shows authentic signs of age and previous use, including some paint wear, small chips, scratches and areas of surface oxidation, which reflect its history and contribute to its genuine vintage character.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and provide a detailed view of the item’s condition.
