Teekanne - Fayence - Yixing-Zisha-Teekanne

A fine antique Chinese Yixing Zisha teapot dating from the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912), featuring an elegant cylindrical body decorated with the traditional Hundred Shou (Longevity) design. The body is crafted from reddish-brown Zisha clay and decorated with numerous stylised Chinese Shou (壽) characters, representing longevity, happiness and good fortune. The characters are carefully carved and inlaid with contrasting light-coloured Duanni clay, creating an attractive decorative effect. The teapot features a distinctive Ruyi-shaped lid finial, a long upward-pointing spout and a gracefully curved handle. The lid is decorated with geometric key-fret patterns, while the upper body and rim feature delicate scrolling designs, also highlighted with contrasting clay inlay. The underside bears a decorative floral cipher mark (Huaya mark, 花押款), a traditional form of Chinese artisan’s mark. The teapot also features a distinctive perforated internal structure, with multiple filtering holes. This is an attractive example of Qing Dynasty Yixing pottery, combining traditional craftsmanship, decorative clay-inlay techniques and auspicious Chinese symbolism. Dimensions * Length (including spout and handle): 16.5 cm * Height: 10 cm Condition The teapot is in good antique condition overall, with signs of age and use. There are two visible chips: one to the tip of the spout and another to the upper rim of the teapot, both clearly highlighted in the photographs. The decorative Hundred Shou characters and contrasting clay inlay remain well preserved. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and condition report. International Buyers: Please note that any applicable import duties, customs charges or local taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.
