Julien Colombier is a French artist born in 1972, who lives and works in Paris.

Self-taught painter, he mainly works with acrylic and oil pastel, and his supports range from canvas to paper, including walls, wood, or installations. He is strongly influenced by the world of graffiti, Japanese art, Matisse, and Keith Haring.

Julien Colombier's artistic universe is both dreamlike, fairy-tale-like, flamboyant, and unsettling. It is populated with jungles or lush, colorful tropical forests that play with the boundaries of figuration and decoration. The artist repeatedly uses his geometric, organic, and botanical motifs in an obsessive manner, creating an environment where strong contrasts tend to hypnotize the viewer.

Their works depict a dehumanized world, either before or after its disappearance, where nature takes or reclaims all its space. They are heavily influenced by biblical references such as the apocalypse, the deluge, apparitions, divine lights, hell, and paradise, as well as by urban culture, graphic design, advertising, and comic strips.

Far from a merely naturalistic vision, Julien uses the floral motif as a graphic element whose infinite repetition takes on full meaning, playing with textures and volumes for an intoxicating, almost palpable result. Added to this is an impressive vision of color. A contrasting, explosive result, where movement seems to have been suspended for a moment. Ready to interfere with reality.

The artist regularly collaborates with major brands to customize stores or products (such as Cartier in 2015, Chanel, Hennessy).

A painter for as long as he can remember, he sees collaborations continue and evolve towards the highest peaks. Chanel, Bulgari, Hennessy, Diptyque, and luxury hotels turn to his uniqueness.
