Description from the seller

Wiener fireplace clock from around 1840 with Westminster striking mechanism and a very rare date display. Very beautiful Viennese round movement with thread suspension. The condition is excellent; the clock has recently been extensively and professionally renovated.
Hans Dastel was the watchmaker on Angelistrasse who created this watch around 1890. After years in private ownership by a Viennese family, it is now being offered at auction as a true rarity.
