About the Distillery
Founded in 1918, Caroni Distillery became synonymous with heavy, high-ester Trinidad rums produced from the island’s molasses. The distillery closed in 2002, but its remaining stocks and unique distillate were later brought to light through Velier’s releases, which made Caroni a legend among rum collectors. Caroni’s style is characterized by rich, oily textures and a bold aromatic profile — traits shaped by the distillery’s production methods and tropical maturation. Today, each Caroni bottling stands as a piece of Caribbean rum history, prized for its singularity and intensity.
