Description from the seller
This exceptional, handcrafted cabinet is a masterful piece from the 1950s and impresses with its high-quality workmanship as well as its expressive design. Especially noteworthy is the carefully selected wood grain, which creates a contrasting, almost graphic pattern in black and yellow tones. This natural figuring gives the piece a unique look and makes every viewing angle interesting.
The cabinet stands as a prime example of the craftsmanship and design clarity of the 50s–60s. The workmanship is solid and durable, carried out with great attention to detail. The clean lines, combined with the vivid grain and cubical forms, create an exciting contrast between calm and dynamism.
A true one-of-a-kind – ideal for lovers of mid-century design, collectors, or anyone seeking a characterful singular piece with history.
Overall, the cabinet is 210 cm tall. It was made as a plate cabinet, or CD cabinet. Also to be highlighted is the backlighting with wiring dating from the 50s. The light bulbs still work, but they must be connected properly. Furthermore, there are hardly any screws; the system is almost metal-free in construction. The modules can also be arranged singly or assembled as desired.
