De stoel is een lage stoel in de stijl van de Franse ontwerper Charles Dudouyt (1885-1946). Dit type stoel staat ook bekend als een 'chaise basse'. 

Stijl: De stoel heeft kenmerken van de Art Deco en Brutalistische stijl, populair in de jaren 1940 en 1950 in Frankrijk.

Materiaal: Het frame is meestal gemaakt van massief eiken- of beukenhout met een biezen (riet of stro) zitting die met de hand is gevlochten.

Ontwerp: De poten en stijlen zijn uitgevoerd in een klos- of spijlenstijl ("bobbin turned"), wat een populair antiek kenmerk is.

Gebruik:  vaak gebruikt als bijzet- brei- of haardstoel.
