Plays 15-3/4" music discs. Circa 1850-1900. An excellent quality Polyphon Duplex tabletop antique music box. This music box plays 15 ½” / 39cm discs from within an ornate carved walnut case that is in beautiful condition with a lovely colour and lustre to the wood. The musical movement is in original condition has an exceptionally good sound. Mechanism: It operates using a set of pins on a revolving metal disc that plucks the tuned teeth of a steel comb to produce music. Operation: It features an exterior crank on the right side for operation.
