Antoni Tàpies, Lettre A, 1976, lithography, limited edition, 55 x 75 cm, Spain, signed on the plate, not framed, sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
This is a lithograph created by Antoni Tàpies. In his versatile body of work, Tàpies combined profound conceptual themes with experimental use of materials and monumental scale. His work was influenced by early-modern artists such as Paul Klee and Joan Miró, as well as by contemporaries from the Art Informel movement, including Jean Dubuffet.
In his paintings, graphics, sculptures and works on paper, Tàpies developed his own visual language, characterized by thick, paste-like gestures and a rich universe of symbols and signs. He used a wide range of materials, from waste and earth to fabric and stone, which gives his work a strong physicality and material presence. Tàpies participated four times in the Venice Biennale and exhibited internationally, including Paris, London, Barcelona, Brussels, Berlin, Tokyo, Zurich and New York. His work has fetched millions at auction and is included in the collections of leading institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, Moderna Museet, Kunstmuseum Basel, Fondation Beyeler, the Museum of Modern Art and Tate.
Dimensions: 55 x 75 cm
