You are bidding on an amazing old french 4/4 violin, labeled "fait par G. Apparut an 1926 N 149". Condition: Some tears and wears to original golden amber varnish, no cracks. Description: Good quality straight high to medium grained spruce was chosen for the top, and the maple of the two pieces back of narrow flamed maple. The double inlaid purfling after Maggini is a tasteful work of good craftsmanship, just as the shining, golden amber varnish. The whole length of the violin is 598 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 164 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 203 mm. Full size.
