Gertrude Thomson - Macmillan, London - 1898 first UK edition - 20cmx15cm - condition: good, original decorated binding with some tanning and rubbing to boards, slight wear to edges, name to ffep, some page foxing, all illustrations present Gertrude Thomson was a friend of Carroll, she had already illustrated his Nursery Alice in 1889, and he particularly liked her depiction of fairies so asked her to supply a number of engravings for this publication. Many of these poems first appeared in Phantasmagoria in 1869.
