Michele Luzoro’s large studio glass paperweight, signed and dated 1999, made in France from solid glass with embedded yellow, violet, white and warm copper tones and copper aventurine inclusions, weighing 1657 g, and measuring about 10 cm high by 9.5 cm in diameter in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Artistic glass letter-weight made from solid studio glass, signed and dated Michele Luzoro 1999. The object was handcrafted in traditional studio-glass technique and is characterized by its high level of craftsmanship as well as an impressive material thickness.
With a weight of 1657 g, the paperweight has a particularly substantial and high-quality construction.
In the clear vitreous body, dynamically interwoven color structures in yellow, violet, white, and warm copper tones are melted together. Additionally, fine copper-colored aventurine inclusions and deliberately integrated air bubbles are visible, lending the object depth, movement, and a vivid play of light. The surface is smooth and carefully polished and shows a very beautiful refraction of light.
The floor has been planed and sanded to a flat surface and bears the artist's clearly recognizable hand-engraved signature as well as the year 1999. The condition is very good. There are no cracks, splits, or chips to be seen. No signs of wear are evident.
The dimensions are approximately 10 cm in height and 9.5 cm in diameter. Due to its size and weight, the object is suitable both as a functional paperweight and as an independent art piece from the field of modern studio glass.
