Corners and one foot-cap worn, small wormhole on the lower hinge, tear at the head of the upper flyleaf to remove a bookplate, damp-stain at the head of the front matter, tear along the margin of p. 151 without loss, small foxing at the foot of pp. 316–317, small tear and worming at the head of the final leaves without affecting the text.
Medical treatise by Pierre Desault (1665-1735), a physician in Bordeaux. In this work, he discusses cure methods for syphilis that were raging at the time. He also addresses the treatment of phthisis, and was the first to recognize the connection between the latter and scrofula.
