Dalwhinnie 30 Year Old Special Release 2019 is a 30-year-old whisky from Scotland’s Highlands, bottled at 70 cl with 54.7% ABV and originally packaged.
Description from the seller
The Dalwhinnie 30 Year Old Special Release 2019 Whisky is unique, boasting extraordinary intensity as a result of its age and the American oak casks in which it has been matured, all of which were cast in 1989. It is a very limited edition, with only 6,978 bottles available worldwide.
Three decades of aging have transformed this whisky into an aromatic spirit with vibrant character and elegance. The result is a perfect blend of sweet and sharp flavors.
From one of Scotland's most successful distilleries, located in the coolest part of the region, Dalwhinnie is a mountain malt. It perfectly embodies its terroir, and its flavor reflects the same vitality as the mountains in springtime.
Tasting Notes
Color: Deep straw gold.
Aroma: Smooth to the touch, with a touch of spice and slightly dry. The aroma is initially somewhat powdery and closed. Sweet and fragrant with aromas of heather and dried herbs, subtle hints of fudge and butterscotch, and a base of new oak barrels.
Taste: Neat, it is smoothly creamy and slightly astringent in texture, with a vibrant flavor, a dry warmth, and a gradually developing spiciness. With a little water, the flavor profile is barely altered, but the taste becomes more even, remaining sweet and spicy, clean, and fresh.
Finish: Long and warm. The water reduces the heat but leaves a lingering spiciness in the aftertaste.
