Description from the seller
Antique S.C. Richard Ceramic Tureen
Predecessor of Ceramica Richard was the Society for the manufacturing of Lombard porcelain, founded in 1830 by the Gindrand company, later sold in 1833 to Noble Luigi Tinelli, who built the San Cristoforo establishment on the Naviglio Grande, an important commercial route for industrial productions.
Giulio Richard, a Piedmontese of Swiss origin, took over the factory from Tinelli on May 23, 1842. He had great ideas for small-scale production, and so fine products began to emerge from the factory's ovens.
Achieving excellent feedback and sales, Richard founded the Richard Ceramics Company on 23 February 1873, based in Milan and with factories in San Cristoforo, Palosco and Sovere.
On October 11, 1896, the Richard Ceramics Company merged with the Ginori Porcelain Company in Doccia, founded in 1735. It added the Doccia factory and six stores in Florence, Bologna, Turin, Rome, and Naples to its operations. The famous Richard-Ginori ceramics company was born.
Period: 1850-1896
Dimensions: 26 * 30 * 30 cm
Conditions: Good (see photo) (the photos are an integral part of the description).
