Chinese white nephrite jade snuff bottle dragon handles –China- 20th Century
On offer is a very fine Chinese white pale nephrite jade snuff bottle, made in Chinese taste. This white jade snuff bottle has on both sides superb carvings! The small handles are carved in the shape of a dragon's head, depicted in great detail. The snuff bottle has a beautifully carved foot. On both sides, a Chinese character is carved in relief. On one side is the character for double happiness. On the other side the character for auspicious and/or good fortune. The cap consists of a brass mount with a red hardstone top. This snuff bottle has a matte finish that gives it a beautiful appearance and contrast. Rare find, masterpiece!
Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. Provenance: This jade comes from inland China. a Valuable and rare jade, very suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift! Please see test results and pictures.
