Amber glass pedestal cake plate of Belgian origin, octagonal festooned edge with a radiating sunburst design, diameter 27.5 cm, total height 11.5 cm, weight 1.25 kg, Art Deco, circa 1950–1960, very good vintage condition with minor signs of wear and no chips or cracks.
Description from the seller
Wonderful footed cake plate in pressed glass, warm and bright amber color, Belgian origin (unsigned, but the shape and pattern are very typical of Val Saint Lambert Luxval productions or contemporary Belgian glassworks from the 1950s–1960s). True connoisseurs will recognize the brand.
An octagonal, festooned tray with a rolled edge, sunburst decorative motif with concentric lines and chiselled facets, a tall gadrooned foot and a ribbed, round base—mid-century presence and elegance asserted.
Precise dimensions
- Plate diameter: 27.5 cm
- Total height: 11.5 cm
- Weight: 1,250 g (thick and heavy glass, premium quality)
The amber hue superbly captures the light, offering a stunning play of golden and warm reflections—ideal for a festive table, a buffet, or a display cabinet.
Very good condition for a vintage piece 65–75 years old.
No chips, cracks, flecks, or visible breaks.
Original gloss well preserved, light superficial micro-scratches from normal use (typical and invisible from a distance).
No restoration or intervention.
Refined Belgian style, highly valued by collectors of colored glass and European molded crystal (similar to Luxval series or artisanal productions of the era).
A decorative piece with character, rare in this size and weight.
Reinforced packaging and very secure shipping are mandatory (heavy and fragile item).
Great opportunity for a beautiful Belgian vintage object, a statement piece and luminous!
