Description from the seller
Beautiful pair of book supports, originating from Central Europe (possibly France or Italy).
They represent two 'puttis' holding books with their hands, one facing forward and the other facing backward.
The base is made of greenish marble with white veining, of very good quality; the statuettes are made of metal alloy, with high-quality gold paint as well.
Both are in quite good overall condition, just to highlight that on one of the bases, there is a very small flaw in one of the corners (marked in the photos), and one of the puttis has a foot that is a little loose, but nothing serious, it's just very slight.
Identical to the one for sale on 1stdibs for 1000 euros.
