Three-piece vintage silver-plated tableware set from Germany, dating to 1930–1940, in good used condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
This beautiful sugar tong is a charming and functional piece of cutlery from a bygone era, perfect to add a touch of elegance to your coffee or tea table. The tong combines a practical scissor mechanism with refined decoration.
The handles, which resemble those of scissors, are richly ornate with finely engraved floral motifs and graceful curls. The details are beautifully executed, indicating artisanal craftsmanship. The jaws themselves are wide and have a slightly curved, shell-like design, also with decorative lines and scroll details, to easily pick up sugar cubes or small pastries.
There may be light signs of use or patina, which is typical for silverware of this age and contributes to its authenticity and charm.
This sugar tong is an ideal addition to a collection of antique cutlery, a stylish detail for tea parties, or a special gift for lovers of vintage tableware.
Cake creator:
Material & Technology:
High-quality silver-plated metal, marked with "PLATED 80G", which indicates a relatively thick silver layer.
Detailed decoration on both the handle and the blade, likely achieved by stamping or engraving.
Design & Features:
The handle has a classic, decorative form with a fluted, shell-like top and a sunken panel with a relief pattern of vines and volutes. This points to Baroque or Rococo influence.
The blade of the spade is asymmetrical in shape and is adorned with engraved floral motifs, including flowers and leafy fronds, and a graceful volute in one corner.
The scoop is designed to serve pastries or cake.
Country:
Used condition with visible scratches and wear marks on the glossy surface, especially on the blade.
The silvering is largely intact and of good quality, but light wear may be present, which is to be expected with an older item.
The structure of the cake server is intact.
Dimensions & Weight:
Length: 27 cm.
Width (widest point of the blade): 5.5 cm.
Weight: 120 grams.
Origin/Period:
The marking 'PLATED 80G' probably indicates European origin, often associated with German-speaking countries, but also used elsewhere. It points to a quality silver plating.
Based on the style of the decoration (Baroque/Rococo revival), the spoon was likely produced in the late 19th or early 20th century.
Lepel :
Decorative spoon - small serving spoon
Material & Technology:
Silver-plated metal, designated as "ANTIKO 100" (100 gram silver plating).
Detailed relief decorations, partly openwork.
Design & Features:
Eironde spoon rest with a border of stylized roses in relief.
Handle featuring a rich floral motif of twisted stems, leaves, and a prominent rose at the end.
The handle is partly openwork, which gives it a delicate appearance.
The design has a romantic, natural appearance, characteristic of Art Nouveau or later periods that were inspired by natural forms.
Country:
Good, used condition with light tarnish/oxidation (patina) and minimal signs of wear, as expected for a silver-plated object of this age.
The decorations are intact and clearly visible.
