This is a very nice and distinctive piece of advertising history! This item is a vintage 'Point of Sale' (POS) display for Teacher’s Highland Cream Blended Scotch Whisky.
What is this exactly?
This figurine portrays the 'Teacher', the iconic symbol of the brand that references the founder's name, William Teacher. The brand often used the slogan 'The Scotch you know is always right,' as is also on the plaque on this figurine.
• Material: They are usually made from an early form of composite/plastic.
• Period: These specific models were mainly produced between the 1950s and 1960s. They were often placed on the bar or in the display window of liquor stores.
• Importer: At the bottom of the label you can see "Schieffelin & Co. New York". This means that this particular specimen was intended at the time for the American market.
