Description from the seller

Mercedes-Benz 380 SL

GENERAL

Since its debut in 1971 the R107 series has left a lasting impression in the world of luxury cars. As the successor to the legendary Pagode, this model set a new standard in comfort, performance and safety. With its timeless lines, solid build quality and distinctive appearance, the R107 grew to become one of the most beloved classic roadsters in the world.

This 1983 Mercedes 380 SL – now 43 years old – is a beautiful example of this iconic series. The car is sold including all original booklets and a clean Carfax report.

BODYWORK & PAINT

This concerns an Oregon-import and the body is fully rust-free. The underbody is in exceptionally neat and dry condition, as visible in the photos. The paint presents very neatly for its age, although there are a few scratches on the trunk lid.

The car is supplied with both a hardtop and a well-functioning soft top, making it usable in any season.

INTERIOR

The interior is well-kept and in neat condition. The dashboard shows a few cracks, appropriate to the age of the car. The car still has its original Becker radio and is supplied with the original onboard tools, which contribute to the authentic character.

MECHANICAL

Mechanically a lot has been renewed and the car runs, drives and shifts well. Under the hood and in the boot the car gives a very well-maintained impression. The heater currently does not work.

In recent years the car stood idle for an extended period with the previous owner in Oregon, who owned the Mercedes for many years. As with any classic, there can always be areas for improvement.

DOCUMENTS

All import and VAT costs are settled. The car is offered with an American title. This means the car is not currently approved and not yet road-legal.

Due to age, no COC document is required for registration within Europe (this only applies from 1996).

PICK UP

The car can be viewed and possibly collected in Damwoude, Netherlands. Transport across Europe can be arranged in consultation.

OTHER INFORMATION

We try to describe our cars as honestly and accurately as possible. However, it remains a used classic, so there can always be signs of wear or points of attention. If in doubt, we recommend viewing the car in person to get a proper impression.

A stylish and timeless Mercedes roadster with potential, ready for a new enthusiast.
