Henry Detouche (1854-1913)
Les Ronces, C. 1897
Lithograph on wove paper.
Signed on the plate lower margin.
L'Estampe Moderne's blind stamp on the bottom right corner.
Dimensions:
+Size of the sheet: approximately 40.5 x 30,5 cm / 15,9 x 12 in.
Condition: In good condition, with some soft handling creases at the edges and a minor stain upper margin. Image very clean otherwise. Not framed.
Issued from the famous set « L’ Estampe Moderne ».
Published by Masson & Piazza, Paris.
Not unlike the Maitre de L'Affiche series, L'Estampe Moderne was a portfolio printed between 1897-99, published by Imprimerie Champenois, Paris, contained 24 monthly portfolios, with four original lithographs in each. Each was commissioned only for this series.
As well as Mucha, some of the contributing artists included Rhead, Meunier, Ibels, Steinlen, Willette and Grasset.
