Decorative Japanese cast-bronze ink pot from the early 20th century (ca. 1900–1920) with a lid depicting a temple complex inscribed NIKKO, high-relief dragons on the sides, two separate ink reservoirs, and two original pen holders in red and blue, made of bronze with Bakelite components and in good condition with minor signs of aging and spots.

This decorative Japanese bronze ink pot dates from the early 20th century and is executed in a richly detailed relief with traditional Japanese motifs. On the lid is an image of a temple complex, with the inscription “NIKKO,” referring to the famous temple town in Japan.
The sides feature dragons in high relief, a symbol of strength and protection within Japanese culture. The ink pot has two separate ink reservoirs and is equipped with two original pen holders in contrasting red and blue, giving the object a pronounced character.
The whole is made of cast metal (bronze or bronze alloy) and shows a beautiful, authentic patina that emphasizes its age and use. This type of object was often sold as a high-quality souvenir or used as a desk accessory in the Meiji and early Taisho period.
