A very fine old 4/4 violin, labeled Natale Carletti su Carlo premiato piu volte con medaglie d'oro e d'argento fece in Pieve di Cento Bologna Anno 1961.
This instrument is in good condition with no cracks. It shows a very careful selection of wood in the making. The violin has high to medium grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly narrow flamed maple with matched sides. Shiny golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 592 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 205 mm. The sound is very good, powerful, suitable for soloist.
