Igor Talwiński (1907 - 1983) was a Polish painter born in Warsaw, who worked in France. He was mobilized into the army in September 1939 and was taken prisoner by the Germans. After being liberated from a prisoner of war camp in 1945, he settled in Paris. There, he learned the craft of painting. From 1951, he exhibited at the Paris Salon. He also showcased his paintings in solo exhibitions in London and New York. He mainly painted portraits and nudes of young women. He left behind numerous paintings scattered in private collections. Many of his works appear at art auctions.
Dimensions: 38.5 x 46.5 cm, with frame: 52.5 x 60.5 cm. Condition of the artwork: very good. The work is framed in a gold, distressed frame with richly decorated corners - the frame is in need of restoration.
