Head ornament - Akha headdress - Thailand

Traditional ceremonial headwear of the women and girls of the Akha from northeastern Thailand and in neighboring Laos.
Such head coverings are part of the festive attire of women at festivals and other ceremonial occasions.
Black cotton fabric, decorated on the side with colorful fabric appliqués, colorfully embroidered, with round and diamond-shaped, engraved tin discs, framed with chains of metal beads and white seeds.
The head covering is 28 cm high, 20 cm wide, and 19 cm deep.
