Description from the seller
"Red Tower" presents itself as a symbolic assertion of identity in the midst of an unstable and mutable landscape. The house, elevated and reduced to an essential form, acts as a vertical axis that organizes the space and the meaning of the work. It is not functional architecture, but an interior construction: a sign of permanence in the face of the constant flow of experiences. The landscape, fragmented into chromatic and gestural layers, represents that continuous vital passage, where time and memory overlap. Against that horizontal movement, the tower rises as a firm presence, concentrating the idea of home as the core of memory, culture, and belonging.
From a metaphysical reading, this tower gains height because it is from the home —from the roots— where everything can be observed and understood. Verticality is not only formal, but conceptual: it implies empowerment, awareness, and perspective. The house becomes the point from which the individual relates to the world, carrying with it its history and its experience through different scenarios. In this work, space is not inhabited: it is traversed; and the house is never abandoned, because it is part of the subject itself. Thus, “Torre Roja”propone a quiet yet forceful reflection on identity as a solid inner structure, capable of remaining intact even when the landscape surrounding it changes constantly.
About R.Robin:
Robinson Rodríguez García is a visual artist, theatre designer, and drawing teacher, born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and based in Spain. A 2003 graduate of the Provincial Academy of Fine Arts, he develops an artistic practice focused on painting and contemporary language, where abstraction, geometry, and a strong symbolic charge converge. From 2003 to 2005 he taught drawing workshops at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech School of Art Instructors, and from 2006 to 2009 he served as a costume and scenography designer for the Provincial Council of Performing Arts of Santa Clara, an experience that decisively influenced his spatial and formal conception within the visual arts.
Their work has been presented in various solo exhibitions in Cuba, highlighting shows at the Provincial Gallery of Art and in institutional spaces in Santa Clara. They have also participated in important group exhibitions and international fairs, including Art Basel Miami, group exhibitions in France, and contemporary art events in the Americas and Europe.
