Description from the seller

Whisky

This bottle is part of the Karuizawa Ikebana Series, an exclusive collection comprising three limited-edition releases: KIKU, BOTAN, and HAIBISUKASU. Each expression is limited to just 30 bottles, making them exceptionally rare and highly collectible.

Distillery

Founded in 1955, the Karuizawa distillery produced whisky in small quantities, primarily for the Japanese domestic market. This continued until 2000, when production ceased and the distillery closed its doors. Although whisky is no longer made there, a limited number of casks remain — but with each passing year, their numbers dwindle.

In a twist of fate, Karuizawa gained global acclaim only after its closure. Today, the distillery is no longer licensed to produce alcohol, and the facility itself has changed ownership. No new casks will ever be created, and no one knows when the final bottle will be released — making every remaining drop a treasured piece of whisky history.

Ikebana

Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, traces its origins to Buddhist rituals dating back to the 7th century. The word derives from ikeru (生ける, “to give life”) and hana (花, “flower”), and is often translated as “giving life to flowers.” Each arrangement is a refined expression of emotion and virtue, conveyed through the mindful selection and placement of flowers and branches.

To honor and enrich this whisky release, we have chosen three symbolic flowers that represent the spirit of the Ikebana Series:

Kiku (chrysanthemum) – A symbol of nobility, longevity, purity, and trust. It also serves as the emblem of the Japanese Emperor.

Botan (peony) – Signifying wealth, honor, bravery, and good fortune, the peony is often used in wedding ceremonies as a mark of respect and celebration.

Haibisukasu (hibiscus) – Representing fleeting beauty, it is traditionally offered as a gesture of welcome.

These three vivid flowers perfectly mirror the elegance, rarity, and cultural depth of this remarkable Japanese whisky from Karuizawa.

Packaging

This edition is presented in a WS Heavy bottle, crafted from high-purity glass and designed by the Wealth Solutions creative team. The bottle features intricate artwork hand-painted directly onto the glass, and is housed in a bespoke oak wood box, created exclusively for this release.
