Chess set - Régence antique - 19ème siècle - Business

An extremely old Regency chess set, enveloped in a mysterious aura.

It features pronounced characteristics of Regency-era games from the early 19th century.
Notably the muzzles of the riders and their eyes, drawn as childlike diamonds.

The pieces are slender and elongated, topped with small balls. The bishops have side cuts on their collars.
The pieces are made of boxwood; they have a very old patina, aged by time.

The king measures 9 cm with a base of 2.7 cm.

The pieces from this era were non-standardized and often showed irregularities; one will notice nuances among the four knights and their carving, as well as nuances on the pawns, which do not all have the same height and thickness.

The game is in good condition despite its age; however, you will notice marks and signs of wear on the pieces, as you can see in the photos.
