Description
Splendid display cabinet or sideboard with a top looking-glass, made in England at the beginning of the 20th century (Edwardian period). The piece perfectly embodies the elegance of the 'Sheraton Revival' taste, characterized by light lines and harmonious proportions.
Constructive details
• Structure: Made from premium mahogany with refined inlays in light woods that create elegant color contrasts along the edges and on the fronts.
• Upper part: Dominated by a large tilting oval vanity mirror (or fixed) set into an airy framework with two small side shelves resting on elegant scrolls.
• Base: The lower body features a crescent-shaped panel that follows the line of the two central doors. The latter are finely inlaid with floral medallions and framed by geometric filigrees.
• Supports: Four slender, tapered legs with the characteristic shovel-shaped feet.
Conditions:
The piece is in excellent original condition. The patina is warm and rich. There are slight, normal signs of aging that attest to its authenticity and do not detract from its beauty (please view the photos carefully).
