Description from the seller
Acrylic on canvas.
Maestro Aldo Gentilini.
In good condition.
Signed on the lower front, while on the back there is the authentication made directly by the artist.
Canvas size 50 x 40 cm.
A detail as with all of his works and unusual due to its modest dimensions, this work by Maestro Aldo Gentilini is part of a private collection.
It is certainly an interesting piece for anyone with a small space to furnish and enliven with taste, in Abstract style, and it comes with its original frame which is in good condition, but without the glass, which could be re-glazed if desired.
The images shown are an integral part of the description.
It will be carefully packed and shipped with express courier and tracking.
Aldo Gentilini was born in Genoa in 1911. From a young age he felt a strong religious vocation that led him to enter the cloistered monastery of Pietrasanta, where he stayed for three years pursuing philosophical studies, before dedicating himself as a self-taught artist to artistic research, which would lead him to exhibit in numerous shows in Italy and abroad.
A man of faith, he believes that only through art can the divine be reached. And this idea will underpin all his work: "I try to make the void – Gentilini declared – This void provokes in me a certain catharsis: I observe sensitive values that I respect, I reevaluate them, but I never know how I will fall into the painting, and this is the realization of a truth toward the sign never thought."
He was an artist practicing asceticism, to imitate the Saint he was devoted to. The two natures, the human and the aesthetic, coincide perfectly.
