Italy, 1910 Harp Mandolin in wood, one piece, weight 3 kg, condition discrete, not tested for playability and intended for collection or display.
Description from the seller
Mandolin with an extension in lyre-arm style, Italian popular.
Late 19th – early 20th century (circa 1880–1910)
An ancient string instrument of Italian folk tradition, handcrafted in solid wood.
The speaker cabinet, elongated teardrop-shaped, features:
• a natural wooden board with an obvious patina of age
• long handle with a keyboard equipped with position markers
• spatula with original antique mechanisms
• characteristic side curl, a distinctive element of the type
Inside the harmonica’s chamber there is an original vintage photograph, probably contemporaneous with the instrument, inserted most likely for commemorative or sentimental reasons. This detail lends the object a strong historical and ethnographic value, making it a unique piece.
The instrument is presented in good overall condition, with normal signs of wear consistent with its age. It has undergone a small restoration carried out by a specialized craftsman. Playability is not guaranteed, but the item should be considered primarily for collection, study, or display.
