Series of six art photolithographs published in Verve magazine in 1938. The photographs are spread across three pages, front and back.
Photos of Greek statues salvaged near the island of Antikythera
Excellent condition for its age.
Period photolithographic prints on thin paper from 1938, normal yellowing for their age.
Good reproduction quality, in vintage black-and-white printing. The mention "Herbert List" is printed at the bottom of each document. Note: these are not photographic prints but photolithographic prints published in a famous art magazine.
Dimensions of each page: 35 x 26 cm
Herbert List is a German photographer influenced by surrealist artists such as René Magritte, Man Ray, and Giorgio de Chirico. Until 1962, he travels extensively, visiting Greece, Spain, Italy, France, Mexico, and the Caribbean, regularly publishing in magazines such as Heute, Epoca, Look, Harper's Bazaar, Flair, Picture Post, and Life. He is also regarded as a major photographer of homoeroticism.
